Meet Dr. Burden

“As a kid, I loved science and I was always taking something apart or putting something back together. My grandfather was a dentist and at a young age, I began to like the idea of being a dentist because it allowed me to create and fix things with my hands.”

Education and Training

Dr. Jim Burden is a Monroe, NJ dentist who has been practicing dentistry in the area since 2001.

A Millstone NJ Dentist with A Lifelong Love for Education

I completed my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at Temple University in 1999, where I learned traditional dentistry techniques. I finished my hospital-based general practice residency at the Virtua Health System in New Jersey in 2000.

While taking a two-day course entitled Air Abrasive MicroDentistry, my approach to dentistry completely changed. I then began diagnosing and treating dental disease and opened my first solo MicroDentistry practice, New Paradigm Dentistry, in 2001.

Continuing Education Junky

New Jersey requires dentists to take 20 hours of education each year. Dr. Burden will at times receive 65 hours of continuing education courses in one month!

Advanced Training

Dr. Burden has over 1300 hours of continuing education and focuses each year on learning more in the fields of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry, Invisalign Orthodontics, Implants, Cosmetics, Non-Surgical Periodontal Therapy, and numerous minimally invasive dental procedures. His passion for minimally invasive dentistry takes him on the road throughout the year to train other dentists all around the country.

16+ Years of Experience

Dr. Burden has been the leading micro-dentist for Millstone, NJ, area patients for over 16 years. He lives by the advice of his mentor who said, “Do it right the first time and don't use cheap materials or instruments!”

AGD Fellowship

In 2007, the Academy of General Dentistry granted Dr. Burden the “Fellowship” degree—an honor attained by less than 6% of all practicing U.S. and Canadian dentists.

‘‘My 14-year-old daughter saw Dr. Burden for the first time yesterday. Petrified to see someone other than her pediatric dentist, it was an emotional day for her. Dr. Burden was patient and took his time filling two teeth and smoothing out and polishing a tooth that was bonded previously and was very unsightly in my teenager's eyes. I was not able to go to the appointment but as soon as she left the office she had to FaceTime me with her excitement !! She had to tell me how happy she was with Dr. Burden and that she will never go to another dentist for the rest of her life. Great job Dr Burden !!!
